Village Litter Pick and Easter Egg Trail

A litter pick in the village took place on October 22nd.  It was a successful event.  Two full bags were collected.  The Main Road was definitely the worst area, shortly followed by the bridge, next to the A47.

The main items collected were meal deal wrappers, such as sandwich packets and drinks bottles/cans.  Several plastic bags from sweets were found, wine gums seem to be the favourite!  It was presumed, from what was collected, that the main cause of the litter was because of people throwing their rubbish out of their car windows.  The amount of plastic bottles collected was shocking, 48 in total.  Some had to be dug up as they had started to be buried in the ground.  The second most collected item was drink cans, 31 in total.

Another litter pick is planned for Saturday 16th April, from 10.30 until Noon, meeting at the Methodist Church Car Park.  Any interested parties, please contact Cllr Christina Foster on 01362 687459 or 07799692815.  Refreshments will be served afterwards in the Church.

The Easter Egg Trail will take place on 16th and 17th April.  Children will need to follow the Easter Bunny Footprints around the village,  starting at Carr Lane.  For more information contact Cllr Christina Foster.
